Mixtape Rosetta Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Mixtape Rosetta app, its Share extension and its widget for iPhone and iPad. The Chrome extension has its own policy.

Effective and last updated October 9, 2026.

In short

  • No account with us, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking.
  • Your mixtapes are saved on your device.
  • Apple Music is used only after you give permission, and those requests go to Apple, not to us.
  • Spotify files are read on your device; the app never connects to Spotify.

Who is responsible

Mixtape Rosetta is created by Tristin Hassell and published through Gathered Commons Press LLC. The party responsible for this policy is Gathered Commons Press LLC. Contact us through Mixtape Rosetta support page or at hello@gatheredcommonspress.com.

Mixtapes saved on your device

Song lists, mixtape titles, cover images and the identifier of each playlist you create are saved on your iPhone or iPad. Mixtapes you remove move to Removed until you delete them. Deleting the app removes all of them.

Imports, Spotify files and the Share extension

You choose which files or text to import. Playlist files exported from Spotify, or from Spotify’s Download your data, are read on your device; Mixtape Rosetta never signs in to or contacts Spotify. The Share extension reads the playlist file or text you share to it and saves it into the app on your device.

Apple Music

When you choose to connect Apple Music, iOS asks for permission. Rosetta then searches the Apple Music catalogue for the songs on your list and, when you choose Create, adds a playlist to your Apple Music library. When you export a library playlist, Rosetta reads that one playlist’s songs and saves the file where you choose. These requests go to Apple through your Apple Music account and are covered by Apple’s privacy policy. Rosetta never receives your Apple Account password or payment details. You can turn off access in Settings › Privacy & Security › Media & Apple Music.

The widget

After an import or a save, the app writes a small summary of your last mixtape (its title, song count, format and a small cover thumbnail, but no song names or notes) to storage on your device that only the app and its widget can read.

Feedback and other music services

Send feedback opens an email to us in your mail app; nothing is sent unless you send it. Links to other music services open those services, which have their own privacy practices.

Messages you send us

If you write to us through the contact form or by email, we receive your name, email address and message and use them only to reply and to improve the app. The website privacy policy explains how long we keep these messages. Please leave passwords, access keys and other people’s private records out of your message.

Your requests

Information the app keeps on your own device or computer can be viewed, exported and deleted there. Information held by a service you connect is controlled by them, as described above. To ask about information you have sent us, or to have it deleted, contact us as above. We respond within 30 days. California residents have these rights under California law, and we extend them to everyone.

Changes to this policy

If a future version changes what the app stores or sends, we will update this page before that version is released and change the date above.
