We are beginning with Lula Hayes and building outward from there. Some stories return month by month; others will arrive when the season is right for them. This is where we will keep the order—and soon, the dates.

The Lula Hayes Mysteries
We begin on Mackinac Island in October 1958, when the last tourists have gone home and a young hotel worker has not. Lula Hayes stays for the winter—and for the mystery the island would rather keep to itself.
Then, another case
A new Michigan mystery each month
Lula’s work will carry her from the iron country to Cedar Point, Sleeping Bear, Muskegon, and other Michigan places where a local mystery opens into an older history. Readers can begin with the first case and stay with her as each new one arrives.
Alongside Lula
International historical fiction
La Común follows revolutionaries, workers, couriers, families, and organizers across occupations, coups, covert wars, and uprisings. These novels will arrive alongside the mysteries, moving from one struggle to another without losing sight of the people who must live through them.
Continuing into 2028
Family mysteries from a changing Michigan
The Hayes sisters inherit their family’s curiosity and none of its patience. Their cases move through workplaces, neighborhoods, public records, and family arguments as Michigan changes around them. New installments will continue alongside La Común through 2028.

A damaged watch opens other versions of Modesto. A family builds an underground resistance network against the Continuity Service. Sailors, prisoners, printers, and witnesses refuse the official stories handed down to them. We will share each book when its turn is near.
